Futurecasting Digital Media is about technology forecasting, and my central theme is that understanding the present is an essential pre-requisite of predicting the future.

I suggest various ways of mapping the present - building a 'big picture' of what's going on right now in digital media, I survey various forecasting methods, and examine the role that visionaries play in determining and focusing some of the main strands of development in new media.
